The Keenleyside Route to Renata.Hugh Keenleyside Dam. See GPS/Aerial photo # 3. View that meets you approaching the gate. Path around the gate. You'll pass over a few of these bridges and a few short tunnels along the way. Turn right just before you come to this long 3rd tunnel... Trail to the right just before the tunnel. See GPS/Aerial photo 6A-6B-6C. This deadend campsite path runs 90degrees to the railbed. This one just to the right of the campsite path cuts back toward Keenleyside and is the one you want, it will bring you too... This old logging road. turn left. Continue on past the gate. Shortly after the gate turn right here, as described in The Backroads Chronicles "Bulldog Biter" this trail is the former access road (southern) to a Forestry lookout on the peak of Bulldog Mountain. after reaching the top of this trail you'll find the (northern) route leading down into Renata. This route is a lot of fun on a bike and becomes more difficult as you make the extremely steep descent down the northern route making it one of the most challenging trails I've ever ridden, it's called Bulldog Mountain for a reason ! as I rode down the northern trail it was so steep bumpy and strewn with rocks and shale at times I seriously wondered if I would make it back up, 2km down the north trail my ride was ended by a large tree across the trail, turning the bike around on such a narrow steep incline is tough and riding back up to the top is similar to a hillclimb, I wouldn't ride down the northern section again on a bike without first knowing the condition of the entire north trail, if your determined to get to Renata via the Keenleyside route and back, I would recommend a 4x4 quad with low range and good tires.
